AccessEd exists to increase university access for young people from under-served backgrounds globally. We are working to create a global network of partner organisations committed to this mission, sharing with them our expertise, resources and support.

AccessEd is an education charity that builds university access programmes to see more young people from under-represented backgrounds reach higher education. We work globally, already with programmes in countries such as Botswana, Ireland, South Africa, as well as a portfolio of work with UK universities helping them support school-age young people in widening participation.

Along with the recent appointment of our new Chief Executive, we are looking to grow our board as we enter an exciting phase of development as we look at how AccessEd supports young people, educators and universities in the post-Covid world.

We are seeking three new trustees to join the Board during 2020 with a diverse range of skills, experiences and background. This is an exciting time to join AccessEd ahead of going into our three-year strategy planning with our new Chief Executive.

We particularly welcome:

  • Experience in fundraising, professional services, digital or the university sector
  • Those without experience in education or charities but extensive professional experience elsewhere
  • Applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, as these groups are underrepresented as trustees throughout the charity sector

Although a commitment to education and social mobility is a requirement, no experience in the education sector is required and we welcome those who have built careers in the private and public sectors.

The deadline for applications is the 31st of July at midday.
