'ReachUni' is a three-step programme that help you to become university ready, including making a great application to your target universities. 'Explore' is the first step of ReachUni.

It takes time and energy to explore what university and course might be best for you, as well as back-up options you might want to consider. We help you do this through three modules, which you can do in order or jump between.

You don't have to be 100% sure which university or course you want to apply for, but having some potential options in mind will be helpful before starting your UCAS application in Year 12.

ReachUni: Our Three 'Explore' Modules

The 'Explore' modules start with a library of materials you can read, watch and listen to across a wide range of subjects and course. There is also a university choice app, which you can click through to via your phone or the internet. Finally, there is a series of guides to university life, including getting to know, getting in and getting on.

When to Start

You should definitely be considering your options by Year 11, not least because you might need to take certain A-Levels for courses such as Medicine.

That said, it's never too soon to start thinking about potential universities and courses! So you might start getting familiar with universities and courses from Year 9 onwards.

Not sure where to start? Our guided ThinkUni app is a good jumping off point!

When to Move on to Step 2... 'Stretch'

You don't need to be 100% sure of the university or course you want to apply for. However, you should have an idea of the type of university and the broad subject area before moving on. Ideally, you will have a few different options that interest you before moving on to Step 2... 'Stretch'.
