This course is designed to help Scholars refine their professional communication and writing skills in a non-academic environment. Scholars will understand what is meant by 'communication' in a professional context, how academic and professional communication styles differ, the key types of communications to expect and produce in a professional work place, how expectations vary in teams, and common issues that might be faced when writing in professional forms. Scholars will leave the session with practical experience in recognising your own communication style, how to adjust your communication style to get the right result in different environments, how to pinpoint breakdowns in team communications, and how to identify and avoid common 'academic' communication pitfalls.

This training is open to Commonwealth Scholars only.
