Oracy & Critical Thinking in the Classroom: OxNet Conference The University of Oxford, in collaboration with The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT) in Warrington, Cheshire is hosting its 5E conference this January. The conference aims to support teachers, middle leaders and senior leaders across primary, secondary and further education, and access & outreach professionals to actively engage with the educational research evidence base on enrichment, equity and equality to support raising achievement in schools. The conference will showcase the unique collaboration between TCAT teachers and learners and Oxford’s Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach. It also aims to facilitate better understanding between communities of practice in the fields of educational effectiveness and improvement, and widening participation to higher education, and foster opportunities for teachers to share practice and experiences. We will be hosting a breakout CPD session on ‘Building Critical Thinking and Oracy Confidence in the Classroom’ on critical thinking as a subject-specific skill.
